PRASA GNC, KEMPTON PARK
IZAZI Consulting Engineers were appointed to provide Professional Services in respect of the design and contract supervision of the Electrical and Mechanical installations to the PRASA Gauteng Nerve Centre (GNC) facility.
Services included the following: Electrical, Fire Protection, Security, Internal Domestic Water and Drainage, Vertical Transportation, Water Storage and Pressure Boosting, HVAC and Hot Water Generation installations.
Electrical Engineering System Description
The N+1 design consisted of the installation of a new 2.5MVA 11kV Substation that is equipped with 2 off 1250kVA Dual 11/6.6/0.4kV transformers. Standby power is supplied to the the facility by means of two (2) 800kVA Dynamic Rotary UPS's (DRUPS) which ensure the continuity of supply to the essential load in the facility.
Electronic Services Engineering System Description
The facility is equipped with a state-of-the-art integrated Fire Detection, Fire Suppression, CCTV, Access Control, Aspirating Alarm System, Intrusion Alarm, EEPA and Building Monitoring System.
Mechanical and Wet Services Engineering System Description
The HVAC systems incorporates Heat Recovery to provide the required domestic Hot Water to the Gymnasium and Kitchen facilities. Cold Water and pressure boosted is stored to ensure the continuity of supply as the facility will be operational 24hrs per day 365 days per year.
